ORIGINAL PEAVEY 5150II VALVE AMP HEAD Original Peavey 5150ii. 2 Channel 120 Watt Valve Head. Genuine Peavey heavy duty metal footswitch with Effects, Crunch and Channel Select buttons together with long cable. Preamp has been revalved with 3 x JJ's, 2 x Tung Sols in V1 and V6, and a Sovtek LPS in the phase inverter slot. All ECC83. An excellent choice of preamp tubes for ultimate tone. Output section has 4 x JJ 6L6 Valves. Fully revalved February 2012, serviced, play and soak tested by Peavey February 2012. Bias modded - bias adjust has been modified to allow for a wider sweep so the tubes can be biased hotter. Stock 5150's can only be biased to around 20ma so this means they are in crossover distortion, making them fizzy sounding. Some like it this way but with a bias mod to make the tubes run hotter makes them sound MASSIVELY better. Tubes are currently biased to a sweet spot of 38ma. Sound is phenomenal - much warmer, tight, punchy and articulate and without the fizziness that these amps can suffer from.
