Bass Guitar - Aria Pro II SB-1000 in Cardiff, Cardiff for sale

The Aria Pro II SB-1000 is a very sought after bass guitar – its reputation enhanced by the John Taylor & Cliff Burton connections. This one is simply STUNNING. Discontinued and hard to find (especially in this darker-stained oak finish). The serial number on this one is 009006, which dates it as one of the VERY VERY early ones in 1980 – so this bass is 36 years old! It was crafted in Japan at the legendary Matsumoko facility. Build quality, tone and playability are exceptional. The electronics are the original active MB-1E double coil pickups with pre-amp and function 100%. The headstock has the “bat ears” design that was used on these very early ones. The bass definitely has the vintage SB look with that distinct body, inlays, and headstock complete with the classic Aria Pro II logo and paragraph worth of copyright info. It has a parallel neck, so tight spacing, lending itself to fast playing, with brass nut, brass bridge. As seen in the photos, it’s in very clean condition. It has of course been used in its 36 years, so has a few minor marks that I’ve tried to photograph. Some lovely natural wear at the back to reflect its use. The front face of the body is in great condition and does NOT have the finish cracking that is present on many of these. Fret wear is minimal. Sold complete with non-original hard case.
